Feb 20, 2020 Now Offering 3D Digital Ear Scanning

Big news! We are now using 3D Digital Ear Scanning! This advanced technology offers greater comfort, better sound, faster product delivery, and more. Learn more...

We’re excited to announce that we are the first – and only! – audiology practice using the Lantos 3D Digital Ear Scanning System in the Washington D.C. area! This state-of-the-art technology is a modern, safe, accurate way to capture the geometry of the ear for custom-fit hearing solutions.

Extremely Accurate, Non-Invasive

In less than 60 seconds per ear, the Lantos System maps over a million data points from the outer ear down to the eardrum, producing a 3D rendering of the ear in real time that can be immediately uploaded to make hearing products.

This exciting technology has many significant benefits that our patients will appreciate.

Here are the top five:

1. Custom-Fit Hearing Solutions Made with Digital Accuracy

The Lantos System uses breakthrough technology to capture the geometry of your ear from the outer ear (concha) down to within millimeters of the eardrum. This results in an extremely detailed 3D rendering of your ear, which can be used to make custom-fit hearing products built to the exact specifications of your unique anatomy. While one-size-fits-most solutions might be fine for some people, custom-fit products offer the ultimate in comfort and performance.

2. More Comfortable Than Silicone-Based Earmold Impressions

3D digital ear scanning is more comfortable and less invasive than the process used for taking traditional silicone-based earmold impressions. You can see what’s happening at every step of the way, and you don’t need to sit still for five minutes while goop hardens in your ear.

3. State-Of-The-Art Technology

See inside your ear and watch as the Lantos membrane is placed down the ear canal and right next to your eardrum. Then watch the shape of your ear’s unique geometry build into a 3D image in real time during the process.

4. Faster Custom Product Delivery

The output of the Lantos 3D Ear Scanning System is a 3D digital file, which can be uploaded directly to the cloud for product manufacturing. This streamlined, fully-digital process decreases shipping and production time, so you’ll get your custom-fit hearing products more quickly.

5. One Scan, Endless Options

Once your ear is scanned, the digital rendering of your ear stays on file. If you lose a hearing aid, we can reorder one with the touch of a button. Decide that you’d like other custom-fit products, like swim plugs or sleep plugs? We can use that same scan to make you unlimited hearing products designed to the exact specifications of your ear.
